COMEBACK?
Can you imagine that we were involved with Pizzas from the day Pizza came to Goa? In other words, Chicky Chocky was the first to bring out the Pizza in Goa, and here is proof to that. I know that there are many people who will remember the great days when freshly baked pizzas first hit Goa in 1985! Desmond Lobo took it to another level after that, and Cyrus Todiwala was the man who inaugurated it almost 30 years ago. Pleasant memories!
Can anyone take a good guess as to who Cyrus Todiwala is honouring at our home in Campal?
Yes, She is our most colourful and wonderful Vasanthi, the woman who made the first pizza at Chicky Chocky in 1985. It is an absolute miracle that she is back with us in a new stint and avatar. We know that The Taste of Goa is on the right track just because of this.

One of the high points for me at the Taste of Goa Festival, is the delightful news that Desmond Lobo will be with us for the Festival.
He did such a fabulous job with Chicky Chocky, and then broke the hearts of a generation and more, when he left for Toronto to a superb career and a new life.
However, since we both were involved with CC at some point of time or the other, We cajoled Desmond to have a showcase comeback with him as our guest.
Vasco Alvares has been so kind to head this in his honour, and who knows? We might get Desmond's okay to restart the place in a completely new avatar somewhere in the near future.
